so my timing chain broke and i have taken off the valve cover and the top cover of the block. i have removed everything for the second cover that goes all the way to the bottom of the block but i cant get it off. there is an oil pump connected to the inside of the bottom cover, and i dont know how to remove it so that i can access the bottom of the timing belt. does anyone know how to remove that or if there was something els that is hidden and i missed?

i removed all the obvious bolts and everything.

will i need to remove the oil pan?

please help or give me a call after 2

you have to remove to whole oil pan assembly ! Oh and make sure you go to Nissan and get the OEM timeing chain kit. Don't use the part store shit. Also you might want to get the new oil pump too while you are at it so you don't have to go through all this all over again. It will include the new lower front cover also. Anything else just let me know...

Change everything. If the timing was off then yes you will not only gain back lost power, but the car will run a hell of a lot better. Oh and if you are asking a question like this make sure you do it rite or take it to someone who will.

Did you check the rest of the engine over before worring about the new timing kit. If the chain snapped then you might have some other problems.
