Scott's letting me borrow his wideband to get some readings(Thanks Scott!!) I just want to get a few readings to make sure i'm in a safe zone with my A/F. Ok, so my downpipe only has 1 O2 bung and my O2 sensor is currently occupying it lol, how can I get an accurate reading from the wideband? If I take out my O2 sensor and replace it with the wideband for a few runs will I get accurate readings before the ecu notices or will it be off from the get go?

Help!

well in MY case.. removing the O2's from my mustang when i had it didnt cause anything till about 3 days... by that i mean it didnt throw a code till 3 days later since i had a catless midpipe

ummm... to get the most accurate reading, you want the stock o2 sensor in there. you are trying to monitor the complete system and it wont work properly without the whole system in place.

eric are stangs are alittle different.with our 02's not in or not reading they onlynget a check engine light no limp mode or anything.james try getting a bung welded on it's going to be the only good way to do it

ah i see

well he is only going to borrow, not sure if he would want to weld a bung there and then have a hole in his exhaust when he gives it back to scott lol

do you only have one o2? usually theres another o2 past the resinator... if you take that out... i dont think that will do anything to change the way the car runs .. i only have 1 o2 on the colt.. factory 4g63 have 2 i think.. and mine runs fine with only one lol but its a 4g63 not a msm lol

the o2 sensor in the down pipe should be your rear o2 sensor which is only a emissions monitor(among other things). See if you can see another o2 sensor further upstream. if there is one further upstream then it would be fine to stick the wide band in the location of the downstream one and leave the stock rear 02 sensor out. It will throw a code but it will most likely be something about the rear 02 sensor malf. or a cat being bad which should effect nothing, just pops a cel. When you are done with the wideband put your stock sensor back in place and have the codes cleared at advanced auto or someplace similar.

Exactly what I said and I'm pretty sure that's what he's doing. Secondary O2 sensors are ghey anyway.

Hoe damn glad I checked it out! I pushed it to 11psi to test and that's too lean for the stock injectors, I was over 13:1 :sprachlos020: Yea, I don't fuck around when I get my mind set on something lol so I got it done asap, especially when my car might blow up!

Did a few changes, set the boost at a little over 10psi(right around where I had it, I wanted to be able to do 11 but it's just not safe :() and a couple wiring tweaks to help get around a stupid hickup in the ecu around 4krpms that causes a lean spike. I'm in 12's through most of the powerband(anywhere that I can be in boost is fine) and i'm in high 11's near redline. Thanks again scott, took a load off my mind to know i'm in a safe spot. The car feels strong and due to this wonderful cold air i'm spinning 2nd from a roll haha, good to know that it'll be safer all year round after tweaking it at basically the coldest it gets. Hmm... I should get to the track this winter to get some runs in while it's freezing :D.

Oh, and I have an O2 sensor about 1" behind the turbo that I never knew was there until yesterday lol, so I just detached the secondary one behind the cat right before the end of the downpipe and put the wideband in there and secured the O2 sensor to the chassis.

Thanks for all the input guys :)

How much are some slightly bigger used injectors?? :)

Acuracy

I dunno, I havn't found any 305's yet(also not sure where to look). I'll be able to run 11psi with them though which would be cool(moving from the stock 265's to 305's is substantial) and the stock ecu can handle up to 305's. If you see any LET ME KNOW, i'll be all over that!

damn man watch it in the am's when it gets real cold.you might get a boost spike and go real lean.glad you made it safe you dont want a blown motor

I'll keep an eye open. I use to see injectors come up in the classifieds on miata.net occasionally, but I don't really go on there much anymore. Maybe hit the forums that the injectors come off of. The S2000 forums use to get all the turbo 'busa guys coming on there trying to buy stock S2k injectors, apparently they were a direct swap.

Acuracy

lol maybe so, but that'll switch around once yours gets up and running because it'll be faster than mine and with a decent suspension it will run circles around me with that tiny NA shell.

Their classifieds may be blocked until you have like 50 posts, I'm not sure, let me know if you can't get to it and I'll get more info.

would prelude injectors work? the newer ones(97+) had 290cc injectors.
they are high imedance or "saturated" injectors.

Unfortunately not, the only injectors that are plug n play are:
