Ok, so rather then take a huge hit and trade my Turbo EF for a stock EG, I've decided to do the work myself, it just needs a head gasket and I need to find someone who might be able to weld my manifold till I can afford another one, its cracked at the weld seams right on and below the flange, its not bad, but needs to be done.

I can do the head gasket in my driveway, and I'm 80% sure I can do the work myself but if anyone might be able to lend me a hand that would be amazing (seeing as I've never done one), I don't have any cash to pay you but I can buy you some beer or something in trade. I'm looking at getting started sometime in the next two weeks or so, just need to gather the cash for the gasket and wait till it gets here (unless someone can point me in the direction of a cometic d16 gasket for around $80 bucks).

Last but not least, anyone know why the fuck my car tends to back fire on high rpm drops? I was thinking it might be the exhaust (2.5" instead of 3?) or maybe because its untuned? Idk, any ideas???

The backfire is probably the unburned fuel hitting the hot exhaust.it's probably running rich so alot of excess gas is being dumped into the exhaust

doesn't matter... wife has completely crushed that idea. word of advise, if you want your hopes and dreams destroyed... get married.

pretty much...

could also be your rear O2 sensor is garbage and it's not letting your ECU correct itself as needed.

What's the problem with the wife, she don't want you working on the car in the driveway? or does she just not want you to have the car in general?

lol that's why you need to establish the rules from the get go, my wife doesn't decide what I do ;)

Sorry to hear it though man, good luck.

Welcome to married-hood.

If you do decide to work on it I'll lend a hand if it's fiesable for me, I've put together a few leggo Honda blocks in my time.
