i didnt check the offroad section. so i didnt even know about the offroad day at sunharvest. and i felt like going offroading yesterday. so julio , cakebaker , and slide89 and myself went out in the jeep to the spot here in lehigh off of 82.

went fine for about 40 mins driving aronud. but it was very wet.

found one hole , drove through it slowly testing the deepness of it. and it wasnt deep.so i turn around and go through it , but i might have gone a bit to the right of it more toward the center , and my front end just goes DOWN then i couldnt see shit but i kept going enough to get the front end out of the water and i shut it off , even though it was already dying.

let it sit for a while. then cranked it over , took a bit to start. and let it idle for about 20 mins. it made all kinds of noises and CEL came on. but it went back to normal , CEL shut off , and drove back home perfectly fine. i will check my fluids later on today. my oil and tranny fluid are clean with no water in them.

the stupid "intake" the jeep has made the situation worse because its just a open fucking cone filter. and it had sucked up water. but yeah. drove home just fine and took me to the meet and back last night. so alls well :)

lesson learned:

Offroad with someone else , and let them go through the hole first :)

and buy a snorkel lol

the ground goes up , and then it just goes down , and keeps going down.lol.
chris knows how deep this hole is. we went in it in his rover during DRY season:

holy sh** that hole has 1234124124x more water in it than it did the last time i saw it. regardless, lehigh looks insane right now haha.

thats basically what happened with me and slosser at C&B except the rover didn't start dying midway through....however the water crossing sucked all the juice outta the battery from the short.

and buying a snorkel is useless unless you buy a factory airbox to seal the airflow in...

that hole was barely 4ft long and 1foot deep when i went through with very gradual slopes and a slight drop in the middle....it wasnt much more than a black puddle then. juan's jeep went through some deep water now. its not muddy in there, its basically hardpacked sand with some black silt in the middle

I know that spot. You think that's deep - ride on back there in the cypress..... I was in past the tops of the doors on 38's, the bed and hood were completely under.

Sounds like a good time though. Definitely should invest in a good air-box and snorkel. Playing like that with a daily can cause serious headaches.

Lehigh FTL. I've been out there a few time and only found standing water and sugar sand.

I don't enjoy going through standing water at all and neither does the montero for some reason.

 as opposed to standing mud and water at cook and brown or sunharvest? lol

we don't have a whole bunch of choices around here.

What I'm saying is I've spend like 4 hours in lehigh and couldn't find an mud at all. However there is mud at c&b and sun harvest.

Maybe there is some nice mud in lehigh but I've never seen it.

lehigh has plenty of mud when you go at the right time. going in the peak of wet season = water. if you go in a few weeks i'm sure that same water filled hole jaun drove in will be a black mud pit like when i went through it.

come on out here by me. The water has recieded and the mud is now ridiculous. Plenty of places that appear dry but are completely bottomless. I had my 4wheeler in past the racks Friday eve and there was next-to no loose water in the hole I was in.

'bama has some very nasty areas as well.

Haha, well you're supposed to wheelie over deep water, because it's easier to hydroplane. But when I weelied this certain time, I couldn't hold it long enough and went straight down at the beginning of the hole, mainly because I just trucked through about 50 feet of standing 2 feet of water, blowing my feet off the pegs.

Lol pretty sure thats wrong, the reason ive always heard to wheelie is to try and prevent from going over the bars. In hydroplaning you want as much surface area on the water so a wheelie would grately hinder any hydroplaning effort.

Meant to say easier when hydroplaning... not easier to hydroplane.

your mom hydroplanes

congrats on not destroying the jeep, brendan sucked up some water through the k&n - that increased airflow works even better for water! you guys need snorkels like whoa - i'd like to see your jeep do battle

and Briton i am going to get an old suby wagon and show you how it's done

A couple buddies and I are planning to ride out here probably Sat. Don't have any capable trucks anymore, just the wheelers. - As it is I may be on the 2wd of doom, doubt I'll get the rear done on my 4wd by then.
