One of my friends from college was in the TDI cup last season. That would be awesome if you got in. Then I would know two guys that did it.

so the race weekend was filled with unluckiness, but it was ok overall i guess.

I qualified in 6th out of 20 (the most cars ever in a skip barber mazdaspeed challenge event) which I was happy about. I had never been on homestead before so I had to learn the track. turn 1 was the only place I had any real issues. I spun there twice in practice at 130+ mph.

Race 1 went pretty good until the very end. I started 6th and stayed there off the start. on the second lap, one guy went into the wall at turn 1 hard, which led to a full course caution for like 5 laps. I didnt have a great restart, but i held on to 6th. I managed to work my way up to forth and i set the guy in front of me (who had been blocking me) up for a pass in the last hairpin, and when he saw me he tried to block me mid corner, spun and hit me. the accident was ruled his fault so he paid for most of the damage to the cars. i ended up going all the way back to 15th because of Skip Barbers rule that if you touch another car you have to come into the pits. I was really frustrated and I almost killed the guy when we got back into the pits.

In the second race, I had to start in 15th in a new car because mine was not ready to race from the accident. It was immediately apparant to me that the new car was down on horsepower a little bit, because everyone else was 4 or 5 mph faster than me on the banking. I managed to work my way from 15th to 10th and thats where i finished. I was on the tail end of a group of 4 cars, but I could not pass them because of the power difference. I always caught up to them in the infeild and they would run away from me when we got on the banking.

overall it was a decent weekend. I clocked the second fastest lap of the weekend in the first race, which seemed to impress a lot of people. I wish I had been able to finish in a position that reprisented how I actually drove, but that happens I guess.

heres the skip barber report (mazdaspeed challenge is group 2)

Does anybody know how to transfer a multiple-file video done on a mac to a single file PC compatible video? I have the second race on video but I cant put it on youtube.

Nice. I'd love to do some head to head racing one day. Seems intense.
