Ok been a all day venture, dropped sway bar, drained fuel tank, threw slicks on. Than washed Dakota, tow rig, trailer. After that adjusted air pressure on anything that has tires. Followed up by loading cal-tracs up, and throwing truck on trailer. So if anyone comes out, look for a Midnight blue 01 Silverado ext cab, with black trailer. Will have a army green pop up tint next to it. So stop by and shoot the shit... Dan

I got a kick ass result from the old tired lsd/3.92's to new eaton tru trac 4.56's.
The runs where:
1st) Reaction: 1.02=sleeping
60 Ft: 1.97
330 mark: 5.71
1/8 E/T: 8.83
MPH: 78.69
2nd) Reaction: .93
60 Ft: 2.0
330 mark: 5.74
1/8 E/T: 8.88
MPH: 78.37
3rd Best run!) Reaction: 1.11=Sleeping
60 Ft: 1.91=BEST
330 Mark: 5.63
1/8 E/T: 8.73
MPH: 79.07
Boils down to, Medium burn out/22 psi air/ launch in 2nd gear will net me the best. I just need to get to track more to work on reaction times. What truck needs? Well I need to get off my ass and rich up the fuel. Than possibly more stall. Or T-brake/built 904..... Dan
Video 1 is of 2nd run: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v259/SupaMan89T/Videos/?action=view¤t=Picture2983.flv
Video 2 is of 3rd best run/Yes the pimp wagon did ownage: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v259/SupaMan89T/Videos/?action=view¤t=Picture2989.flv
I also bought a picture that was taken when I launched. I was pretty impressed how the truck is launching for the basic setup.

First shake down i think he said it ran a 6.5 and he didnt bring it up on the 2 step all the way at the lights so it left soft second run i wanna say he did a 5.4 @ 131 with a 1.31 60 foot.
Dont quote me on it tho my brain is scattered after that long day.

I can't watch the vids from here at work, but sounds like it runs pretty good. - Seems you're leaving a bunch on the table in 60' though.

Its the trans. 46RE's eat a shit ton of power and he was launching in second gear we still dont have the floor shifter in it yet. i think launching in first will net it a way better 60ft but he will have to be on his a game so itll take a few practice runs and finding out where to shift. This truck winds out fast as fuck in 2nd gear first is gonna be gnarly.
but a 1.9 is better than the 2.1's and shit it use to clip off. he picked up over a second off the total time all we changed was the gears, diff, took the front sway off this time, and the back seat is gone. (back seat doesnt weigh much tho)

Hey Cracker jack I was just informed the fasted stock long block Dakota R/T cc is in the high 11's. That was done on N2O, so I believe I am going to throw streetabilty to the wind, and put a built 904 in her. I wan't to snag that record.

I don't even begin to know pentastar transmissions, probably never will. Launching in 2nd is likely helping anything that's for sure. With slicks and caltrac's it should be able to run 1.5-1.6 60's. I went high 1.8's basically completely stock(just a cat-back) in my 'vert which was pushing 4k#'s at the time and on street tires.

Its a mopar, they are different from other makes lol. I honestly need to throw some 90/10 shocks up front, pull the heavy ass overdrive power eating transmission out, put a 904 3 speed in it, with a stall in the 3800 to 4000 compaired to my 2800 I have now. Throw some more fuel at it when it sees boost. Put floor shifter in, and shift light. Oh and ditch the stocker front wheels for some bogarts. Do that would net me solid into the low 12's high 11's in the 1/4. I am gunning to push this stock long block to its peak before I need a built up motor. Than thats when I go ahead build a blue printed stroked to 390 setup that I can wind out. Ofcourse this will all come in time, just takes money. lol Dan

January 27th, 2009, 10:30 AM
Wheel hop is the shocks in-ability to control the axle through it's range of motion. - That said, the suspension geometry could be lacking causing you to need overly stiff shocks to control it.

If you're gonna add a 2nd stage I get my plate kit. I dunno if I can run 8's in the 1/4 NA, this thing does weigh over 3k.
Right now I'm still waiting on that head. They had to cut the seats out, weld a hairline crack in the chamber and spot weld the outer section(wants it tacked in place before v-ing it out to full weld). Bring it back, grind it all up...it's now headed to be finish welded. Then he's gotta grind it again, pressure test it and install new seats and grind them. - There goes the money from selling my 35's to Pro-mo.
The wife went to Kagan's(the one on college) after her car accident. Dr. Atkinson did a great job on her shoulder.

its not always the shocks fault shag. on mark 3's the "traction arm" is very weak tube steel and it bends under hard traction and snaps back causes wheel hop or something very similar. buy some soild steel H beam arms from suprasport and its all fixed!
which is why i asked him if he knew what causes it on those rx8's.

I feel blessed with my 1960's technology under the ass of my truck. Now convert the transmission to that same technology, and hello awesomeness!

I see, you find out what was wrong with it?
IRR hasnt hooked as well as it did this weekend in a very very long time of going there. they had their shit together this weekend prepped the track, actually had water in the burnout box and they were actually brushing it off after every burnout!!! I was amazed!! Hopefully they keep up the good work.
