So I got an appointment to get my car tuned on the dyno Monday at 11(Relentless RPM). I figured I'd get it done there, seeing as though they are members here, and have had some pretty cool cars come out of there.

Fernando......I have nothing against Emilio, but I would much rather have a dedicated shop do it. I'm sure he would do a good job, but I'm not so positive on the whole Einox thing yet.


So hopefully, all of my gremlins will be worked out, and I will have more Hp.

emilio did a good job on mine, al einox did was provide the dyno at a good price.

Hey no problem with me. I just tell people about him because they don't have to spend ^^^ that kind of money for a reliable tune. At the end of the day it's all about how comfortable you feel with the person touching your car.

personally i would never go to einox just because when i went there the guys working there didnt seem to know much of anything...

So anyways, I back in town now, fresh off the dyno.
First pull was a base. I had 190hp can't remember torque. He went in and zeroed all of my cam angles, and started from scratch. A few hours and quite a few pulls later, my final numbers are 210hp, and 176 lbs-ft of torque. I went there at 11 and got done at 5. I gained 20hp from the tune. So probably all together I gained 30hp from my cams.

Well worth the money. I recommend everybody to go and get your car tuned from John at Relentless RPM.

Sorry if this broken up and hard to read. My son is driving my crazy, and I can't think straight.

Yup, a stock type R has 220 at the crank. Not bad huh?!

yeah that's pretty good. i didnt know they were up to those kind of numbers with the A3.

ill be doing a K20A2 swap with the IPS K2 cams and probably the TWM ITB kit among other things at some point.

Total price was 575. Should've been 750. I was there for 6 hours, and the labor rate for the dyno is 125/hr

Does Einox have a load dyno? I think I may eventually want to get my car on one to get the timing tuned in a little better. How much is their hourly rate?

Base pull = His mods w/ no form of tuning.

I just find it very hard to believe that without a tune, a K20A3 pushed out 190 to the wheels. I/H/E and cams will not make that much power untuned. A3's come with 160 at the crank. and he made 190 to the wheels which would mean that he made a 30hp gain with no drivetrain loss. impossible because everyone knows that every car has drivetrain loss which again, means he made more then 30hp with bolt ons. Im not trying to knock on his ride but Correct me if im wrong..

It just seems like a bit of a stretch to have that much without any kind of tuning. Hes got to have something else like a k20 head or something.

Haven't had a problem with Type S's before. Like I said before 190 whp base pull. After done tuning 210 whp.........with out NOS. I hate nitrous BTW, what a waste of money.

168.9hp/ 190.1nm Torque at crank
146.7hp at wheel

Power with I/H/E mods and no tuning:

154.3hp/ 170.2nm Torque at crank
134.6hp at wheel


( That last part was the most important one. There is no possible way you made that much power with just bolt-ons and cams. People can barely make 230 with a supercharger. Id check your work at another place. Not trying to put any one down im just stating the obvious.)

All that sounds like either someone cant tune or he doesnt know WTF he is talking about. You can make more power through a B with those mods. Matter of fact, you could probably make like 275 WHP out of a B with mods like that.


Sounds like he was making that shit up.

the a3 is a generic k20. its rated 160hp to the flywheel you take at least 20hp off and thats what you got to the wheels. Its not impossible to get 190whp out of a A3 but i dont think you can pull it off untuned.

Trust me I about shit myself when he told me that. I've seen dyno numbers on clubep3(I think I've read that post before), and ephatch.com. When the tuner ask me what I was going for, I told him 150, he looked at me like I was crazy, said it should be higher than that. His original goal was 200. After I layed down a 190 with no tune, he said he's goin for 220. I don't have a dyno sheet to show you cause I was in such a hurry to leave to pick my son up from school. Left PC at 5, and was at the daycare at 5:45 in FTMY.

I haven't had a chance to run anybody yet, but before I got my cams, I ran my neighbors new GT mustang w/ intake and exhaust and ran side by side after missing like 2 shifts.

I really don't know, but my civic runs pretty strong, it always suprises the shit out of people.

I don't think my car is all that fast, I've been wanting to race somebody, anybody since my tune, and haven't. 1st gear is useless, spins and hops like crazy 5000RPM and up from a roll. From a dig.....pointless. I like having fun, not making it all serious. I win cool, you win cool.........i don't know that's what the dyno said, that's all I know.
