so yesterday when I found the dead dog I came across an area being slashed down for a development. I decided to go back today with some friends of mine, nothing big but it was a good way to kill 30 minutes. It wasn't anything special. most of it coulda been covered in a 2wd, except the hills were just steep enough and just wet enough a 2wd woulda had trouble. anyway, lots of logs, stumps, and roots. Got a little 3 wheel action on one stump, nearly slid into a pointed log, and I did back into a small tree (hit my lower taillight guard, not a scratch on my car, but the tree cracked lol). You can see they moved fill over a creek which sucks, it woulda been alot of fun to drive through, but the hills coming down and up on both sides of it were much steeper than the pictures make it out to be.

please don't think I'm making this out to be extreeeemme, I just thought it was a fun way to kill the afternoon and was better than me sitting inside and my rover sitting on pavement. I really wish there were legitimate trails closer to me, everything seems to be 3 hours or more.

after I got back to town and was putting air in the leaky right rear tire some guy came up to me and asked me where I bought my roof rack from. To make a long story short he is a 2002 disco driver who is in the army stationed at fort benning. So hopefully I've got someone else who is stock to wheel with in between here and the hour it takes to get to columbus GA.

Thats pretty cool.

And thats the problem with places around here, you cant do that. Anywhere else, you can find some dirt road where at least its something to drive on, down here its just mud for the most part. But oh well... beggars cant be choosers.

yep. I used to just cruise around on alot of the sandy ATV trails (that were wide enough) or on all the different canal roads snaking throughout south fort myers. found some neat things, and alot of great fishing spots. sadly last year LSCO put up steel barriers that are set in concrete, you'd need a plasma cutter to get through them. just exploring around is honestly more fun to me than driving back and through the same mud hole for an hour. hopefully places like cook and brown will be open for a while, its big enough and changes enough depending on the water levels to really make for a fun day exploring around.

those logs also really made me realize i still need some diff guards and a gas tank skid plate. some of those stumps and logs were slamming around on my undercarriage.
