Anyone heading out to IRR this Friday?

Me and a few friends are heading out with our Lightnings and one with a GTI, another with a bike.

I got my issues fixed, two blown spark plugs. So game on.
I might even hit the giggle gas just to make it a bit more fun. :SolidStraight:

I'm just looking for some people to run. first time at the track with this new setup, and considering I had a huge hole in my intake at the Dead Hookers 9 event, sucking in a ton of un-metered air that fried two spark plugs, I don't consider those good runs.
Re-plugged the intake, that shit ain't coming off now.

And I figured it would be more fun to run some people from the site vs some strangers.
don't care what it is, bikes welcome too, I love running them.

Good to hear the intake is correctly plugged. I don't have anything to run yet. - We'll have the 'maro at runday sunday the 29th. If all is well after the first couple shake-downs then I'll turn the plate on, hit it about 250 and see if I can grenade the 12-bolt.

you would know.... the motor pretty much breaks apart WOT. At least on V8's it does. But it can never hurt to pull the plugs and check. If your block is not built, you can do some serious damage.

LOL JP, I love the way you think..... Lord knows I like pushing shit till it pops. then just rebuild it bigger and badder.

Oh come on now, I'm a heavy brick thats as aerodynamic as a billboard sign.:sadwavey: Think last time I weighed her in I was at 4800 lbs.
Of course its been awhile since It's been on the scales.

Plus no times on this setup, so who knows I might run a 7.8 :o

I'm sure that if it's going to let go, it's going to do it when I let go of the button so f* it! If I thought I could break it on the big end I'd be killing the squeeze after low gear. I won't put the blower motor in front of it anyhow. I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid.

Robert has Kooks headers now as well as a 26 spline input shaft and a new Spec flywheel eater for a clutch(cintered brass disc). He's talking about up-loading the race tune for Roy's dyno day and seeing how far north of 600 that thing is gonna go on the stock pulley. That thing is over 600 on the pump tune as is now. With the 1.52 it went a couple weekends ago driving through the clutch, I'm sure there's a 1.4 60' in it as is and a 6.x pass. - Then in goes an anti-roll and I'll see how far into the 1.3's I can tune his 60'.

titter
March 11th, 2009, 05:07 PM
I would go, but I already know what I will run. The car is still stock, and will continue to run 8.50x, maybe a 8.4x until I get off my ass, and put some stuff on it. Besides 7.8x is still too fast for me lol.

SickSVT
March 11th, 2009, 05:34 PM

Shoot JP I'd be happy to get in the 600 club, I doubt I can without spray on my 93 octane tune. But I might spray it at roys on dyno day, we'll see.

How's the track prep on Friday nights? I've only been there on Saturdays, and Sundays. I know Sundays are hit, and miss. All you get is what's left over from Saturday night.

And a truck that weighs 4800 pounds DAMN! Makes me feel a little better at 3380.

JP
March 12th, 2009, 09:05 AM
...at least this time I don't have to stand ready to catch a rod.........:ugh2:

Must be between the auto trans and the manifolds that's soaking up so much power. His went 584rwhp on the initial "soft" tune at 14psi with fairly big cams, but not blower cams.

Randy 3380? damb, that's heavy for an s-dime.

SickSVT
March 12th, 2009, 09:37 AM
I'd kill to tip the scales at 3380, damn this thing would haul the mail with a quickness!

love your avatar btw Randy 406.

No rods this time Shagwell, but get ready for tranny pieces to be flung in your direction....

As for track prep, it's hit or miss. The more high-end cars there are, the more they'll do.

I will be out of town. Would love to go and try and break into the 7s. Last time out there I went 8.00. I did hit the 7s in the 1/8th up in Bradenton last Saturday with a 7.96. Now i want to do it out at IRR. I will be there on runday sunday for sure.

The gears helped out alot. The only thing I trap at 6100 rpms now and had the nitrous set to shut off at 5800. So I might have gotten a 12.2 instead of the 12.38 it ran but I'm good with that.

ISMELLRICE

The boombastic is on there, as well as HP/TQ
And under her right breast is my 1/4 mile time.

I should be out at the track by 6 hopefully.
Got my new tune, not sure if I have enough nitrous left in the bottle to spray tonight, and no time to get her filled. So it might be a no spraying night, which sucks....

He did get a new PB. I wouldn't tell but it may take a week for him to respond.

no doubt. I had a custom 2wd/lowered '81 K5 blazer with a 3.08/700r4/mildly worked 305 roller motor. If you look up brick in the dictionary, there's a picture of that body style. Suprisingly, that thing rode out pretty good from a 55-60mph roll, but that was because I could drop 2nd with the steep rear gears. I had that bitch up to 130 on a GPS one night on 417 coming into Orlando....yet another reminder of why I should be dead by now...

Randy - you going to runday sunday next weekend?
