my friend dave was showing me how he took off his stock airbox and put on a cone filter and was talking about wanting to get some more power after getting a new exhaust. he started showing me how he found those 'chips' on ebay that are garbage and i told him to not waste any dough on that and get a real chip or a tuner. he's got a titan and it's got 90k on it, mostly highway. we found a bullydog tuner but other than that we didn't come up with much but dumb beaner truck rice. anyone know of a good tuner or chip to get, or somewhere in cape that might be able to tune it?

I would talk to Roy at Aftermath.
Dont buy a programmer ever, until you find a tuner. Some prefer certain models. then just go buy what your tuner recommends.

And then what happens when he picks a tuner thats close by or that he prefers, and they only use Diablo?
Some tuners only specialize in one software. They all do the same end result, and all rely on the input of the end user. So with that said, Diablo or SCT both will get you to the same exact spot, it just depends on what your particular tuner is comfortable with.
Now if you refering to data logging features. I'd take SCT over Diablo anyday.
And yes I prefer SCT as well.
But once again, find a tuner, talk to them first, and then ask what they prefer. If by chance they use both software's. Then choose SCT over Diablo imo.

Those ebay "Chips" are $.15 resistors from Radioshack.

i was telling him cheap horsepower would just cause costly repairs. apparently he just wants a chip to plug in

i like how chris's sct has more than one tune on it and you can just plug it in and flash the ecu

UPrev all day long for any 03+ nissan! the average titan see's gains from 20-30WHP throughout the RPM range if tuned right. Uprev also gives you the option to run up to 5 tunes in with the touch of a button(or 2 ;) ) Uprev cannot be erased/ lost if you lose battery power, it also cannot be seen in any diag at your local dealer, and it uses the factory ECU and every perameter you could think of! its capable in supporting in excess of 1000WHP. And you get the reliability of OEM parts. No box to carry around, a Uprev dealer/tuner can reflash your ECU in only a few seconds through the Scanport. This system differs from the others as it and modify every map in the ECU much like a true EMS does. Stock titans see a gain of around 20-30WHP where modded titans can see much more.
Alot of people like the 5 maps feature as they can use one for a valet mode, such as limiting your speed to say 10mph, or limit your RPM to say 4K or less. Heck some I have made 1MPH and 300RPM so the truck would not start(Anti-Theft) Map switching is done VIA your cruise control switches, and they still function 100%. Check out their site for more info. I love it and love tuning with it.
Right now im tuning a customers 350Z with a built bottom end and factory top-end with it. On 13psi with the old UTEC system running the APS TT kit it was making 480WHP. With uprev I was able to make 468WHP on a low 8psi and am at 528WHP on 13psi now. going for the 580WHP make on pump gas monday morning and possible 650WHP on some C16 later in the day!! All done with UpRev!!
