Thanks. The only thing that is going to change on that bike is the risers. It needs a slight pull back to be really comfortable, but he's gonna have to go up to a 7-7.5" rise, as currently the throttle cables scratch the gas cap at full lock turn.
I'm planning to build a custom pro-street style chopper. I'm going to be using a night-rod(black v-rod) motor and a single garret bb turbo. - that project is a long ways down the road right now, but I'm slowly accumulating parts.
Mario definitely keeps that "600" clean....

Yeah, those full face helmets are soo safe, that way you can't hear a damb thing around you.:ugh2: They're also great at helping break your kneck in an accident. - Like I said, when it's your day, it's your day. All that protective gear just helps you look better in the casket.
Everyone has a right to their own opinions. Kinda like seat belts. I wear mine, but I don't feel it should be required.

how old are you? I know a handful of close friends who are here still today only because they had their helmet on. Slightest direct head injury will end you or turn u into a veg. You say no gear until the day that half of your skin needs to be replaced.

Shag you are one of the most mature and smartest persons on this site but i have to disagree. I belive that when is your time is your time no matter what , but if its not .... well i rather not get my skin brushed with a wire brush in the emergency room. I have been down before and i know that gear works and works well . if i didnt have my gear on i would probably be missing 1" of skin on my chest , i slid about 70 feet on my stomac at around a 90mph fall, not fun .As far as helmets go 1/2 face helmets are garbage might as well wear nothing , but i can assure you that a full face helmet works. I had a kid high side right in front of me on a a turn . He landed head first and was out cold for 2 minutes, helmet had a fracture line about 6" long . HE was fine with a mild cuncusion . If he didnt have the helmet on he would have been dead . I like to say to wear you gear all the time but im too guilty of not wearing jackets in FL during hot ass 100* weather .But i never ride with out my helmet and gloves .

Don't know how I missed this one. You can do what you want but I strongly disagree with you. In my crash a couple weeks ago I hit the pavement face first at 30-40mph. I would probably be dead or at least without a face without my full face helmet. I don't see the neck thing either. If you hit hard enough to break it it's gonna happen either way.
I only rode without a jacket when I first got the bike and didn't have one. After I got it I have never ridden without a helmet, jacket, and gloves. After my wreck all I have is a seperated shoulder. If I only had a helmet on My shoulder most likely would be shattered and I would be missing a shit load of skin. If you look at the jacket you can see where my elbow hit too. That would probably be jaced up too.
Do whatever you want to do. But riders without gear are organ donors straight up. Or even worse, vegetables taking up beds at hospitals. Just my .02

I'm 26.
I have had an accident, t-boned a 90+ lb rotweiler at around 55mph, folded the forks up to the bike, bent the wheel, bent the shifter and peg, and fractured a bone in my leg. - I have also laid it down once, fairly mildly(30ish mph) due to a neighbor kid darting out on foot from behind a car(parked in a driveway). I got lucky and it went into the grass before laying down; I shifted as it went down and was just simply sitting on the side of the bike.
You guys need to remember the differences in bikes alone. I don't ride a sport bike, I ride a harley with forward controls and apes. My riding position alone is completely opposite of a sportbike, even very different from an enduro. I have had the bike over 65mph maybe 5 times in 3 years, and those times I was wearing full gear and was out on a back road/highway, where there were no side roads/driveways/etc, and maybe one other bike even near me.
I do feel that helmets have their place, along with boots, gloves, leathers/jackets, etc. But if I am simply going for a cruise(that's 95% of what I use the bike for), the sole reason behind doing so is to relax, be comfortable, and enjoy the ride. Full gear in Florida heat is not comfortable by any standards.
Just like racing, it is a calculated risk. I could get killed on my way home today in my blazer, so should I put a roll cage and harness in it and wear my helmet everytime I go somewhere?

The buell's pretty sweet. I'm not a fan of the crack pipes, and damb sure wouldn't have mid controls, but still pretty cool looking.
I'm going to build a custom pro-street style chopper like that, but with a single shock swing arm(think sport bike) a v-rod night rod motor and the little baby bb garret I have laying here. - That's a ways down the road though, too many other things more important.
