Was curious to see if anyone knew about engine swaps for the 99-04 (sorry if I'm wrong) Mx-5 Miata as well as tranny swaps.
I know there have been LSx swaps, and I knew the previous body style has some 302 and s2000 swaps, but what about this style?
Are there any direct replacements for the weak motor that they come with?

Post it up on TR and N4S
if your only asking 6k for the car it will go very quickly if u need to trade i have ATV and DIRTBIKE for trade, If it is true what ROY stated needs pretty much Heads/Cam/Springs/Lifter/Tune
Trade ATV for the Z28, u got 5/6 k to get the thing back on the road 100%

There are only 2 logical options for more power, IMO. Turbo if you're goal is under 300whp, LSX if you want more than 300.
Flyingmiata or Bell Engineering for turbo.
Flyinmiata, V8roadsters, boss frog, racing concepts, etc for LSX swap kits.
Let me know if you want a ride in a 260hp car to get an idea how much power you want.

It needs new valve springs
$275 + labor if you can't do it yourself and tune.
And Scott, how much do those turbo kits go for? And I'm up for a ride sure lol

Not cheap for a decent one. I think my kit was right around $4500 (with ecu and injectors). Plus you gotta get a clutch, mine lasted a few weeks at ~170-210hp.
Why do you think it need valve springs? Is it ticking? Sound like valves? Check out these links:

They're known for the lifters to get clogged up and make some nasty sounds. Mine does it from time to time, just haven't gotten around to cleaning um yet.

Ohh, gotcha. I thought he was talking about the miata. Anyway, if strait line is your thing an fbody will absolutely stomp a miata dollar for dollar.

lol damnit jeff!
Also another option, you can turbo it with a junkyard build for alot less but you won't make as much power as scotts is. There are plenty of people that make anywhere from 200-225whp on junkyard builds, but after that it's sketchy and won't be nearly as solid as his. I completely agree with his logic of the turbo vs V8 swap too btw.
You might be able to find a crashed mazdaspeed miata that you could take the manifold and turbo out of for cheap too, the turbo is tiny though and doesn't have the power capacity of the Begi kit scotts running(or flyin miata's kit for that matter), i'm near the upper efficiencies of my turbo and making around 215-220ish. Also keep in mind when riding in scotts that his weighs about 300lbs less than what those others start at since it's stripped.

dylan try something besides chevy because you obviously have no luck when it comes to the lsx community.maybe you should try a turbo 4cyl or god forbid you get a ford made product like a cobra thats not going to break.your not gonna spend much more on a cobra than you would a fbody and dollar for dollar the cobra will win.a sti might be good for you too.just some simple boltons and a clutch and itll be fine

Hope you got cash.
And yeah, fuck modded cars lol, I should've kept my 02 ws6.
Here are my options-
STOCK f-body
500 dollar civic hatchback then build it
2003 Miata for free and drive it until I'm done with school then get a car to mod.

How many miles are on it? Spool or Posi? Moser? ABS? C-clips?. I will pay to have it checked by Roy, also need to make sure I can do a gear change before purchasing. Obviously you can swap my 10 bolt into that car, and cash.
