Ok, so i'm considering selling the MSM and moving on to something else. I'm thinking something more along the lines of an A4, G35 or IS350 etc. My thoughts are in the poll, please vote or suggest other options. I'm looking for something relatively subtle that I can stay under the radar with(like the last A4). Once again i'd like to stay in the 20k range but will go over for the right car.

The 335i is a pos my girl has one, her old is350 was better put together than her 335i. Looking for just a fun car or possibly something that is worth modding?

Voted Hyundai :rofl1: Not a fan of the company or even the car for that matter, but..

for something reliable, somewhat under the radar, that will have a strong aftermarket in about a year, plus a waranty, cant really go wrong.

I didn't mean under 20k, I meant in the 20's. I'm not looking to mod it, just something fun and not stupid slow for a good DD. I think i'm done modding for a while. I don't want something to make really fast like a cobra either, something to stay more under the radar not stick out more lol.

lexus. cause i'm biased. may as well go with the 250 though, or a used is300 cause that'll save you a ton of money and it's still legit.

Those 3 are all based purely on making power and going fast. I want a somewhat sporty luxury car to DD. I'm not planning to really mod it besides maybe sound, rims and springs. I don't want to stand out at all on the road really so i'll keep engine/exhaust stock.

May 27th, 2009, 12:05 AM
We're gonna need to swap some parts before this trade goes down, haha.

If you're looking for sporty luxury that you won't be tempted to mod I'd vote for the E46 M3 as well. Nice as hell, sweet car, and too damn expensive to buy mods for it. :)

Haha, I already PM'd you. I REALLLLLY wish I had some money to offer for the tranny/differential swap. I'd be more than happy to donate the labor to put on your stock exhaust and downpipe if I could swap the tranny and diff as well. At least that way you'd get some money out of it (selling the downpipe), and a dealership taking the trade would probably prefer it to be "stock" anyway.

is this thread serious .. id take a 335 coupe over any of the mentioned cars in this thread...

there is a black coupe in fort myers that is slammed and on black wheels .. i shit my pants everytime i see it

Acuracy
May 27th, 2009, 01:10 AM
And that's the difference between you and me. I've had several cars that i've modded and worked to make faster and now i'm getting past that and want something practical and professional for a DD that's still nice and relatively fun. A "slammed on black wheels" 335i is not necessarily whats best for me, but thanks for that.

The only one on the list that I would not be excited about is the Audi. I'm surprised it even made the list from what I've heard of your last Audi experience, haha.

Yes, but i got a lemon last time and I don't think it's fair to judge the entire brand based on that. The ONE major thing I hated about the A4 was that it was the triptronic transmission and not a stick, the 3.0 and quattro were both great, and the interior quality was great(something unfortunately that the mazdaspeed lacks a bit IMO). I need to fall off the police radar and I now have a big ass bullseye on the back of my head(looong story) so these are all natural moves for me. I obviously havn't decided on the audi but i'm not counting it out just yet. With just a chip that little 2.0T quattro isn't bad.

And I havn't made a decision on your proposal yet scott but I havn't counted that out either lol.

C5 Z06.....

I'd say a big +1, but that's not gonna get you in less trouble than a miata, haha. And if you're gonna look at a C5 Z, might as well look at a C6. Same basic price range, newer car, same powahh.

lol, hate to say it but both of the two above are very correct. I would cam and exhaust that bitch within a month but it would probably do the exact opposite of what i'm looking for, but it is a great option for the price range I stated. With a huge power increase within easy range with little cost I have trouble resisting plus add in the fact that a vette doesn't blend in with the crowd of traffic very well and thing is exactly the opposite of what I really want haha.

IMO, don't do anything until the court date is over. Then you'll have a better idea if you need to get a "blend in w/ the crowd" mobile, or if you just need to find another sweet car that Capt. Douchebag won't recognize.

lol, especially more than a loud red miata, but I still want to be less conspicuous than a vette. And be less tempted to floor it everywhere :o

that has to do with the driver lol,i floor my truck more than i do my car.a vette has enough torque down low you dont have to wind it out to have fun.same thing with my mustang i can leave it in 4th and just go.ive never gotten a 2nd look from a cop or any tickets related to my car.a vette or m3 is a higher class of car and cops will give you more respect than a loud red convertible miata.

hey hey hey  ( i dont want a twin rolling around ) , dont buy an E46 m3 with 100k miles unles you have atleast 3-5k to invest to get the car maint up to date .( thats the only way you will find one under 20k ) . The car is really reliable but its expensive to maintain . This car needs to be extremely maintained to kep it running for ever . You can get a reall nice one from 25k and up with less than 50k miles .

i voted 335I bolt ons and the car is a beast .

He mentioned he would go for mid 20's if it was worth it.

i know but i dont want him to be fooled by the " deals " on craigslist for e46 m3's .most of the cars are beat to shit and need major money to bring back to life. i have seen them as a cheap as 16k .

i would also like to add if you plan to mod it , wait save up and go FI no need to spend ALOT of money on bolt ons that wnt gain you much HP/TQ.
