Stock power LS1 GTO run 12s? Neva!!!

At the request of a friend, Im posting this over here even though this was well over 6 months ago:


:) And yes the LS1 is the engine touched by the hand of God! :)

Mod list in order of the difference they will make:

1. ET Streets on OEM rims
2. MH Racemaster front runners on OEM spares

(^^just ensures good traction)

3. Gutted cats
4. LS1 Bumpstop Mod

(^^these gain the most power, I'd guess 10hp at most)

5. Throttle body bypass
6. Flowdisaster catbacks
7. KN FIPK intake


(^^these either loose power or dont change it and were done by previous owner)


So as you can see stock power LS1 GTO with an M6.



How did it run?


12.77 @ 108.49 I then backed it an hour later with a 12.8@108

It is a bolt on GTO running 12s.

Is it full bolt on?......No

I got flamed on ls1 tech when I called my wifes LT1 "close to stock". When it only had exhaust, CAI, and an EWP. Although the LT1 was bone stock, the car was not:

Justin. no ones contesting that an ls1 cant run 12s stock. I just posted the article where a truly stock SS did it. All we are saying is that GTO is in no way shape or form stock, PERIOD.

IMO it is CLOSE to stock, but close does not make it stock.

So true!! Lol no offense Steve, I said it before and ill say it agian. Flowmaster BLOWS!! If people dont believe this I will go find those couple of threads with stock dyno runs, then letting the car cool down and flowmaster dyno runs. Loss of 10-13 RWHP FTL! lol

And of course driver mod FTW!! Good job Steve. I think that is one reason why the average goat isnt in the 12s. Look at their 60ft times. It is a PITA to launch a heavy IRS car. I still cant do it good lol.

lol what part of the blower comes with the car arent you getting? i cant say it too many ways.the pistons and rods do nothing for me hp/trq wise the only power mod that isnt factory is the xpipe.so i would still call my car bolt on's but it does have a built motor(offers no gain)

Bieng as were all getting technial here. Your car came from the FACTORY as a bone stock GT and all of the performance MODs were done inhouse at Steeda.

It did come from Steeda, then the dealer that way, but not from the factory.

None of this shit really matters and it has all been brought WAAAAAAAAAAAY off topic by my domestic ricer buddy Demello:ugh2:

Stock "power", sure. But realize that "stock power" doesn't mean shit once you factor weight and suspension into the scenario. You mentioned "power adding" mods, but didn't mention any weight reduction (you did mention skinnies up front via stock spares).

It's perfectly believable to me that your car ran those times with the mods you have listed. I just wouldn't call it stock if your modlist has more then say, tint on it. Nice runs btw!

nah thats blackmagicgto on here.ive been trying to race chris for like 2 yrs now.he'll never race or when the sun aligns with the planets and the moon aligns with the earth and pluto circles the earth and he says lets race im only on 4lbs.one day we'll do it and after dh ill be on 15lbs permanently so ill just tell him im on 4lbs so he'll race :tongue: he's scared of them furrrds,hes got 1 to many little butt kickings from the blue oval
