Personally for the price you could build an iron block setup, and spray the piss out of it.

It would be bragging factor, nothing more lol. Still pretty cool.

i could understand modding the hell out of the car..but taking the engine out completely already??

You could, but I would much rather start with an ls3/l92 set up.

A fully built ls3 > fully built lQ9 anyday:cool:

Not a bad price.... A LS3 is a much better base to build on, but for the money and for someone being on a budget, an Iron block can be pretty sweet with 5k invested.

There should be no headaches if you use a good builder, and have an idea of what you want.

For 5k for a stock 5 mile LS3, awesome. However for 5k invested into an iron block setup, you would go much faster. Throw another 3k at that stock LS3, and you would be faster ... but now your looking at a 8-10k total. Include tranny, clutch/converter, suspension, tires ... ya it becomes quite expensive. Where as that same 8-10k with an iron block setup would get you much further.

I guess I just don't want to throw around my money, for something that can be accomplished on a budget, and perform pretty close to the same. I think it is cool, and if I had the money to waste ... I would do it. I was just saying there are other options that could save you some coin.

It is just for that ballah status.

Not really "balls", just more dollars than sense.....

Can't say it's the first time I've seen/heard of this scenario though. Some people just have more money than brains.
