What the fuck kind of tires are you buying? Are you going through all four tires, or just rears? God damn. I have had the same set on the car since I bought it, and they were 50% gone on the rear, maybe 65% up front.

sounds like you need shocks and an alignment. tires should last atleast 20k as long as you dont drift or race on them.

damn trevor i have a multiple solutions...

1. dont burn out at every light
2. stop going to the track and burning out in the water box with street radials
3. stop buying no-name tires such as nangcrap and sunnyD or Triangle
4. drive normally

maybe you should lay off the gas?

vr_unreality

You'll spend more on tires in the long run. Lay off the gas for a couple of months and save up. It's worth it in he long run.

my fronts are balding on the inside , and the rears are at about 30% on the inside aswell due to camber.
gonna get them switched around pretty soon.

i used nexens, their "alright" tires, but hold up pretty decent. I think RoadRunner still has his on, and he drives a turbo mr2 like a madman sometimes. Tires shouldnt bald that quickly, it'd be your suspension or your driving habits...or both

If this is true ... you get a fucking face palm. Street tires do no need a burnout at the track. You especially want to avoid the water as it will kick up onto your wheel wells, and drip back on the tire during staging causing you to spin.

When I am at the track, I go around the water box. I will spin the tires just a little, enough to get the dirt off of them, and then stage.

When you burn out with these tires does the smoke smell/taste like oranges? :yumyum:

Ehh I've found the opposite to be true.

Thus far my RT-615s (a pre-shaved autocross tire) lasted as long as or longer than my Yokahama's AS430s (really high treadwear and very easily spun.) However when I first got my goat I had the Yok's on, the RT's are the most recent, thus my maturity level has likely gone up....LOL!

Do yourself a favor leave the traction control on at all times! Or grow up and stop flooring it at every light.

I've been through 3 sets of tires in the 2 years (and 30,000 miles) I've owned my GTO. (Technically 4, but the kdws = utter shit)

Yokohama AS430s (first set that I burned through - new to high performance cars)

General Exclaim UHPs (purchased used with 40% treadwear remaining - was more interested in the rims they were on)

BFG KDWS (purchased VERY cheaply with 15% treadwear remaining - lasted less than 3000 miles before dry rotting into oblivion!)

Falken RT-615 (preshaved autocross tire) Best tire to date I've been on. Will be purchasing more in the future.

I honestly have no response for this....."you can't fix stupid" is the only thing that comes to mind.

Anyhow, how many of you tards are running around with your worst two tires on the front? Always keep the best two on the front, steering is more important than acceleration.

...like a certain 350Z running from the cops, but not making the interstate due to pushing the front tires? :ugh2:

I was more along the lines of not wanting the front tires to be more likely to hydro plane than the rears; we are talking about driving in FL after all.

if he let off a bit might of helped make that turn. driving as fast as possible isnt about just flooring it

yeah i experienced the whole hydro plane yesterday in the down poor.. lets say my first thought was "well this was a decent looking car" but then the tires stopped flouting.
