im sure it would just about the same as installing coilovers .. and that would be around 2 hours labor .. 150-200 bucks?
ive never paid for that .. air compressor with proper gun / air wrench .. a mallet with a 2x4 and some spring compressors and you are good to go
youd be better off finding a friend who could do it and just give them beers

He doesn't have a spring compressor. But I could show him a trick with tie-downs and a ratcheting strap.. :eyecrazy Its how I've actually done all of mine. :nono

its not real hard to do james but i know your always busy.more than likely you might not even need a compressor for them.alot of them you can squeeze down by hand enough for them not to fly out. we just did some work on steves jetta at work and it involved taking the springs out,i just squeezed them shut by hand while he undid the top mount

Yeah with lowering springs I never use spring compressors only is I am reinstalling stock springs. It really isnt that unsafe but will take 2 people. Its easy dude why pay the 200-300 when you can just so it in a few hours.

Very reasonable, I replied to your PM. ^ I got quoted over $500 by one guy recently, I was like "yea... i'll get right on that" lol.
Thanks for the input guys, I just ordered my rims/tires today and they were out of the tires I ordered so I got a free upgrade w00t! They'll be here friday and i'm fortunately off friday so they will be mounted in 4x4 mode till the springs get here. Getting em through Boost and Destroy, wanted to keep the business local

Billy and the Jew are helping me do it. Thanks for the offer though racer44 :)
I can do most simple stuff(bolt-ons etc) but i've never done this so trying on my own my first time doesn't seem like a good idea to me lol. Just like when frank and scott helped me do my intercooler, i'd never done one before but since I did it then and saw how easy it is I could do it myself now.

It is, for the most part, a remarkably simple Idea. Good luck, and take some pics along the way.

im sry i really didn't read the thread, but did you buy springs or coil overs?
Acuracy
September 21st, 2009, 07:53 PM
Springs. I couldn't justify the cost of coil overs(5x what I spent for springs) when my only concern was purely to lower the car for aesthetics.

oh ok, you shouldn't have a prob. just make sure you have the whole strut assembly out of the car before you remove the middle nut lol. long story but it sucks when you remove the nut when the assembly is still in the car lol.
