just put a head on a altima with a dohc 2.4 (looks same as 240's) having problem with the timing alldata says line up upper chain on tdc with yellow marks on cam gears and with dot on primary gear but not having any luck??? any hints to maybe what i'm doing wrong???

it's kinda testy doing the timing on those ... you have to make sure you do it right and nothing moves when you tighten it.

what a fucking pain in the ass it is to time that motor as i just rebuilt my motor. yea you can use the timing marks on the chain to try to help you line it up as long as you get it right from the crank if i am not mistaken.

i havent seen the all data picture in a while now but i would say the marks the intake side is like 10 o'clock ish and the exhaust is like 12... really is a pain the way the made the marks on those cam gears instead of putting them paralle to the head or something logical.

first off what year KA is it? Second did you get the kit from NIssan or the cheap crap from a parts store. I have seen the cheap ones be way off on the marks. It is very easy to do. I have done this a million time on my KA's
