you did good Mike.

i have a way to go to master the new drivetrain in my car. my sector 2 time on the third run shows what could be done.

faster than all but 3 in the back half, all of them on race tires :)

BTW, Did anyone notice that "Trixie" rocked H-Stock?

She crushed HSN and even took out 2/3 of HS, by 4+ seconds!

Keith was the only HS driver to beat her (by 3.5 seconds), but he is a national driver and was on race tires. :eek

I think I need to take a slower car to the next event (hp wise). Looking at your vid it seems like it is in slow mo compared to the way it looks it my car. I know you run a much a faster time than me and from working the course it looks like you're flying but from the in car vid it seems like you have more time to react because of the slower acceleration. Maybe I'm wrong but I've only driven my cars at auto x and they are all 300+ whp & tq.

I can see why you would think that from the video, but it's not the HP so much as driver inputs. My Z has about 300HP and does the 1/4 mile in the high 13's. Not mind blowing speed, but not slow either. If you get the car in the right position at the right time, there is much less drama.

It's easier said than done (I still work on this every time), but when it all comes together, you will be shocked at how uneventful the run seems.

Very true. And I know see where you're coming from about a good run feeling uneventful. It just seems in the vid that the cones are coming at you slower compared to my car. Next month I might take out a stock mini cooper and see how that goes. I think that running a car that has 110 hp at the flywheel instead a 380whp car might help with getting my approach and techniques down.

You could always just drive slower, but I know that it is much easier said than done. I have enjoyed HS cars enough to consider buying one. It is fun just focusing on car placement while the throttle is to the floor.

Btw, I am in town for this event, so I should be out there trying to not look so rusty. I hope plenty of FMR drivers and friends come out to play.

Cool man. Yeah I always tell myself I'm going to take it easy on runs and just focus on my driving but the second I launch my car something takes over and makes me drive all out. Then when I'm finished with run it's like a big blur and I can't remember the parts that I need to word on or even the course layout.

you have to just do a few runs taking it easy, then it'll come to you. you always seem to go all out from the first run. gotta take it easy.

generally, your runs should go like 73.2, 71.1, 70.5, 69.8 or something like that while you're still learning your setup.
