ok so last year my buddy totaled his 94 honda hatch. its a work in progress and we dont really know what we will end up with so suggestions are welcome. we are thinking about a new engine but still playing around with some ideas. basically the car was rammed into the back of a minivan stopped in the middle of 41? lol besides the point.
heres what we are starting with.

ok so as you can see the car is really only in need of a new front core support as body panels at this point along with the radiator, ac condensor, and a few other things like lines and hood latch and stuff. the only thing that i am a little worried about is the front inner quater panels are a little messed up. take a look and see what you think is my best option to fix them. fabricate some new pieces? or should i get out a torch and heat them up and try to pull and push them back to straight which i think is going to be next to impossible.

also cracked distributor and valve cover. comments are welcome.

hmmm honestly i would say find a cheap clean shell and start over it very well could be alot of work to fix everything ...is it doable? yes it is ....is it gonna be a headache? you bet

now i ve seen some really bad shit repaired (father owns a body shop in ny) so anything is possible ..but it seems like it may end up being a headache

of course that is with out seeing it in person ..... pictures go both ways, can make something bad seem better or something decent seem worse

forgot to mention that we already got a new front core support on order so i think am going to cut the old one right off the front of the car and be working with new metal on the extremely bent one. im thinking about using a pair of 15,000 pounds test come along straps and going around a tree and then just straightening those quarters. just trying to think on how i am going to attach a come along strap to it. any suggestions.

you would be better off cutting what ya can off and finding at maybe a junkyard the same ( but in good shape lol) section and cutting and welding it..........as long as it is not anything that is not involved with the structure of the car

ya i could do that. if straightening dosent work with the straps tomorrow i will think about doing some cutting to make it fit right.

o i will for sure. i am hoping we have left over cash to maybe grab a b16 brand new or find one in a junkyard with low miles to freshen up and rebuild. were either gunna keep her n/a or throw a peakboost turbokit on it.

ya it was just on craigslist. he didnt think it was rebuildable till i saw it and was like..Fuck ya we can do it!!! only thing that made it look bad were the panels and core support being smashed as hell.

U pull it already got a phone call.... lol im thinking painting the car black. if i were to say sand the car down and fill in any defects in the car like dents and what not. what you think it would cost to throw some paint on it? nothing fancy. just like 2 coats of black and 2 of clear? i would take the doors off and everything and just trailer the car to the paint shop. my friends dad owns one but i just wanted to see if it as out of our price range or not. im hoping to only spend like 800 bucks on parts. maybe less.

ya austin its joey hamor. im the one rebuilding it, your name sounds familar i just cant put a face to the name. and anthony, i am going to be making sure everything fits right. i fill have panels off and on that car as many times as it takes to get them to line up perfectly. if it comes down to it i will fabricate my own brackets and paint them to match everything. im taking some pride in this build.

I would cut and buy a front clip from another EG, i ran into this issue with my 240 and the lines were never perfect from b4 and really made me cringe at the car. Also you can look at possible buying a JDM front clip from an EG Type R and end up with a EK front end and a B16B, Two birds with one stone but it's gonna cost you! Just have U Pull cut you a front clip and take everything from there like your VC, Dizzy and whatever extra stuff you need, I think they have 2 coupes down there now. GL.

well i cut off the core support and..............it worked beautifully! i used a jigsaw and rotozip and worked wonders. only part that took any time was where it sat flat against the end of the frame rails and was spotwelded on. i bought a brand new core support and should be here next week. gunna tow the car over to my house now for welding once the core support comes. i will have pictures up tomorrow sometime.

might need a new front clip there... that car might never ride straight with the inner walls bent like that

AllBoost

the inners are not bent. its only where very front of the fender lines up. thats the only thing thats bent on whats left. i will have pics up tonight. the shock towers and even everthing is fine. not wrinkled or crumpled up at all. Only the very tips of the inners.
