View Full Version : I Dropped My Car Off at Tuffy Today.

I dropped my car off there, because my car has been pulling to the right a lot lately. I took it to them, and said diagnose the problem, which turned out to be problems. I needed a new water pump, my front rotors need resurfaced, and some kind of support rod needed replaced, which they said was causing the car pulling to the right. I got my car back a little while ago, and noticed severe power losses. Would the new water pump cause this? I wouldn't think so, but that's the only thing I can put my finger on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys.

I don't know man. I hope it's something simple. I'm taking it back tomorrow to see if they can remember doing something stupid that would cause this.

On a side note, are you talking about the radius rod? Stock GTO's radius rod bushings should be replaced. I have seen bad ones in 5 miles still at the dealership. Do your tires have strut rub? It is very dangerous and you should fix it ASAP.

Sorry for the jack, just looking out for a fellow GTO owner.

That was gonna be my next suggestion. Along with resetting the adjustment screw on the water pump so it'll flow backwards, thus taking load off the motor.

Yes, that's what I was looking for! Those need to be replaced. They're getting replaced soon. No, the tires don't rub. Thank God.

What was wrong with the waterpump? If it was seeping, more than likely it was the seal, and that could of just been replaced. Did they give you the old pump? Going to Tuffy was a bad idea.

When I came in this morning, I went through a water puddle, and it started steaming and shit. They automatically went with that it was a bad water pump. I'll go back in the morning to get the old one.

how about you check the battery. they could have disconnected the battery for safety precautions and then put it back on and not tightened it all the way back down. good possibility. if not id start taking a look at your alternator.
