... I was meaning in a autocross sense, because the RT-615 has been out for quite awhile and other companies have brought out new and better tire compound. Which is what falken finally did with this tire.

azenis weren't too bad originally, but i knew of miata's running them so i'm not sure if the weight had too much to do with it. so maybe they're even better. i myself never had any experience with them.

the azenis is a good autox tire, i actually had them on my car for straight line and i liked them, alot more than nitto nt555r. unfortunately they dont last long. also ismellrice- the 512 is discontinued and the fk452 is a luxury tire.

i have always been a huge fan of the rt-615. it may not have the better grip than the kumho xs. hopefully they fixed that with the new compound but kept the predictability of the tire the same.

the grip on the old compound wasnt that bad though. they gripped better than the re01r that i have currently.

There was a test done on these with the 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0 and the 2010 Nissan 370Z with the old and new RT on the Streets of Willows in SoCal, and the driver said "that the From the minute I left the pits, I could feel a huge increase in the level of grip. As I started to pick up the pace I noticed that it still had those great features of the RT 615, which is very predictable and user friendly. After I laid down my 3 timed laps in each car I was blown away at the change in grip! It’s pretty cool to see how one variable has such a big effect on the feel and performance of your car."

I myself have ran azenis and love them, so I definitely can't wait to try these out.

I liked the Azenis before Dunlop dropped the Z1 which shared a similar price tag. If the K's were closer in price to the Z1/XS/old RT-615 id consider them, but now they are in RE-11/AD08/RS3 price territory. They havent been proven yet so I guess time will tell if they are worth the money.

The one set of 615's I tried "felt" really good, but I found them too easy to overheat and never bought another set.

It seems like these new tires are better, but I think they want too much money for them.

how much did they jack up the price?

Edit: HOLY SHIT!!!!! thay are out of there minds. Kumho XS is way cheaper. far too expensive.

Yeah, unless they really destroy the Z1, I don't see how it can be economically competive for us. THe Dunlop is just such a good tire....when it has rubber on it....

ya for a set of 235/40/17, its $220 dollars a tire, that is more expensive then V710s!!!! you can get 710s for 245/40/17 $177 a piece. Falken is smoking crack.

I had the azenis on my V6 tibby and on the boosted miata and they were good enough for the tibby but I had NO straight line grip in the miata. They were good for lateral grip but the miata didn't make that much power and i'd spin my ass off running them. Just my $.02
