Try and compare Bridgstone's RE50's to their SO2's. Different compound and patch size. Hope I like them.

i got some new road race tires. ill be using those on saturday to get them scuffed in for PBIR in two weeks, then sunday using the v710s as usual

Yeah, that was my chance to clinch #1 again, but just couldnt get it together. With that spin it was still an 80.xx I believe. My first run was a 75.3.

The setup today was a bit different. Need to get the same rubber on all 4 corners. Something about having summer tires on the back and Xs's up front. Going to try and have 2 matching wheels and tire for the rear.

har you could hear my car in limp mode in that vid. so much water on the air filter it logged 7:1 AF ratio and cut the limiter to 5200.

Remember we talked about cold air intakes and how I went to a shorter one so it didn't suck up water? Ours used to sit even lower than yours....we would have been screwed.
Just think of it like free water injection.

Glad to hear it was only a wet filter. I'm always super paranoid about any sound I hear at autox.


I do have to say I was really happy with the sumitomo htr z3s. Such great traction in the rain. I think I could've pushed them even more but was just trying to be clean for once in my life. The tires allowed us to blow by everyone on the way home. Only once we got to torrential rin here in Miami did I feel the slightest bit of hydroplane action. Solid vote for a DD/rain tire.

i have a different intake on order already that should solve the issue. ill take it for another drive today and make sure that it's revving up properly but im sure it's fine now. i figured it was time to stop when it started to sputter and smell like gas in there.

Results are up. Would have been a decent rain run if I didn't clip that slalom cone. But then again...I do need to keep the killing up if I want to win next year. Kone killer here I come.

Yeah, I think it's a good idea to run it a bit and make sure there's no moisture left in it. Have you seen the silicone "hump" couplers? I've heard they're supposed to be good at keeping water out of the engine even if your filter drinks a little.

yeah, those only work when it's fully submerged though. i dont think it got much water IN the engine, i just think that it wasn't getting enough air because the air filter was so soaked, and it was running too rich becuase of it.
