Just saw this on channel 2 news. Check out some of the bikes that have become property of the state.
LEE COUNTY: Troopers say seven people were arrested Sunday after a high speed chase on I-75 from Alligator Alley to Lee County.
Trooper Lauren Miller was patrolling near mile marker 90 in Collier County when she clocked on a group of motorcycles traveling northbound at 125 MPH.
She tried to stop the motorcyclists, but they ignored her lights and sirens.
They fled, starting a high speed chase along the interstate.
Five bikers made it to Mile Marker 130 before they were arrested.
The remaining two sped off, but a helicopter spotted them on Veronica Shoemaker near Palm Beach Boulevard.
The duo surrendered and were taken into custody.
All seven now face charges of Aggravated Fleeing to Allude, a second-degree felony charge.
The following were arrested:
Peter Olliviere, 30, of Lauderdale Lakes
Juan Cueto, 53, of Miami
Joseph Peric, 28, of Plantation
Sadiki Stephenson, 27,
Lakes Phillip Cummings, 22, of North Lauderdale
Chad Farokhnia, 20, of Lauderdale
Bradley Peric, 28, of Plantation
Farokhnia and Bradley Peric were transported to the Lee County Jail.
The others were transported to Collier County Jail.
The men's need for speed could land them in jail for up to five years.
"The bottom line is, we all know motorcycles can go fast, but here's the thing: Is it worth spending years in state prison?", aksed Sergeant Dan Taylor with F.H.P.
The motorcyclist's flashy bikes are now officially property of the state of Florida.
