I have bad rattle in one of my mufflers so im just going to replace both of them. Im looking at getting SLP Loudmouth muffler, but then im noticing they sell a loudmouth resonator as well. whats the difference in the two and is there an advantage to one or the other??

resonator resonates .. muffler muffles .. :)
resonator slightly hides the LOUD sound .. muffler does a better job
combine the two and you have an even quieter exhaust .. but of course its going to be louder than stock
i deleted my muffler on my gti and ran just a resonator and it was LOUD .. then swapped and cut out the resonator and ran the muffler and it produced a MUCH better sound ..
catless non resonated is the way to go :)

Resonators are strait through, mufflers are not. I'm a big fan of resonators, that's all I ran on my old miata. It's probably not gonna be as quite as a muffler though.

are you sure the tab didn't break of the top of the muffler? They make an awful sound when that happens!

you need resonators or mufflers- our lsx series cars sound like crap without some kind of resonator.
For your car I would throw in a catback muffler set up. Magnaflow is one of the best sounding out there. The loudmouths sound great on a bolt on set up but once you do heads or cam they get raspy and most people ditch them.
