Ok, so the lip on my wifes rims are like, faded. It looks like the finish is worn off in several places on each rim, it almost looks like the rim is peeling. I don't have pics at the moment but i'll get some if need be. I am very noob in this aspect so forgive the stupid question, but is there any way to refinish them or something to make them look new(er) again? Perhaps even powder coat them another color? And if so any idea on what kind of cost i'm looking at to do it?
Thanks!!

Kind of like this rim, but you can't see the flakes still hanging off:

step up to some BBS rims? but re-clearing them might do the trick.

Naa we don't really want to switch, she likes her rims, and they look pretty good on the car so we'd prefer to just fix them.

If not, you can clean all the rims, tape off the surfaces you dont want sanded or painted. Sand just enough to scuff it up, then lay some of that black caliper paint (the cans that sell at auto zone or where ever.) lay the paint on and let them ride. My buddy did this to a set of rims and the only thing he even did was just clean the surface of the rims, and the paint sticks nicely.

Yea... that's not gonna happen... that would make this car look like a piece of shit.

powdercoat black, like $100 a piece probably to do them right.
Thats the problem with cheap(er) wheels. They just arent good quality and in our salty/humid air it eats polished wheels up. Thats why i switched from chrome wheels to the black powder coated ones with a little bit of polish on them.
Try west coast powdercoating in ft myers.

Yea, we were considering some sort of gunmetal look, but we'd prefer to keep the polished lip even if we went that route. Thanks :)
