The KA is not as bad as a lot of people think. The engine has plenty of potential when turboed, it makes more than an SR does with the same mods (up to a certain point on stock internals), but who needs more than 350whp on a daily driver? I've offered my stock turbo components when I am done to Igor so maybe he can build a KA_T.

What gets me is why everyone and their mama that buys 240's are pulling out a 2.4l engine and putting in a 2.0 (albeit turbocharged). For less then $1,000 you can make just as much power on a KA N/A as a stock SR that will cost you $2,500 (or more depending one which one you get, and if you pay someone to put it in). KA motor is so under rated.

Smokey... no, an NA KA is not as good as an SR.

Who puts in an SR and keeps stock exhaust and all that? Nobody. A full bolt-on NA KA may be even with a bone-stock sr. But add a $50 boost controller and yer done.

There have been two NA KAs that wanted to play with my SR when it was at stock boost, and it wasn't close after first gear.

KA-T is a different story. If you're learning to drift, go NA KA - less shit to break.

do you wanna run your SR versus my KA. I will be more then glad. I say stick with the KA Igor you know my reasons. If not here they are. The Ka is cheap and easy to find. You do not need to change you whole set-up to mod. Bigger displacement. For what you pay for a SR you can bolt up a shot of Nitrous and spank an SR. I have done it . But as stated earlier if you want to prove it I am ready. Don't get me wrong I like the SR also but my KA is way better .

* If I did and blew the motor, It would already be in the shop getting prepped for a SR swap. The price diff is not that much for the huge diff between the 2.

* I dont know to much about them, so I am not really interested in getting a 240, unless its already swapped to make it my worth while. I hear great things about the SR and not so many about the K.

* I am not interested in a car like the 240 because it does not suit my needs-->(baby)

ovbiously you didnt read the post... the link at the bottom goes to another forum where he's got picks of his dyno results... and at the bottom of the "Story" it says SR20DET. We're also talking numbers here.

You shut me up. I think that taking what you said into consideration, I would probably avoid the SR swap unless the motor was rebuilt by me, or a trusted mechanic. Stick to the KA since I dont race anyway.

I for some reason (not knowing alot about the ka) never thought they were shit, but I dont think that those motors are built for performance, and hard driving. Thats one of the reasons that I would swap to the SR because I think that the SR being a performance motor, would be able to handle the stress that I tend to put on them...
