Opinions please on what tires to get for monthly auto-x plus 20k+ miles driving per year.
I like the azenis, but don't want to buy two sets a year either

I am using the RSX for autocross.
The 240 already has Sumitomo HTR Z 245/40/17 R 215/45/17 F.

Falken Ziex ZE512? I had those on my Integra for like 2 weeks before I sold it so no good impressions.
It's between those, Toyo Proxes T1R, the new Falken FK452 - this is apparently between the Ziex and the Azenis, a summer tire rather than all seasons but not many reviews yet since they just came out.
I just realized the sumitomos i put on my 240 only have 160 treadwear. lol, good thing i dont drive it much.

I used to run the Falken FK451 and it was a good tire I guess they updated it now. Gave me good mileage and decent grip on the auto-x course. I know run azenis on an extra set of wheels I have.
Stay away from the 512's everyone will be looking at you because they make so much noise when pushed in a corner.

tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp?width=215%2F&ratio=45&diameter=17&sortCode=49500&minSpeedRating=V&ratio=45&width=215%2F&diameter=17&minLoad=S&vehicleSearch=true&startIndex=0&search=true&pagelen=20&pagenum=1&pagemark=1&performance=EP&performance=MP&performance=UHP&performance=HP&performance=GT&performance=C&speed_rating=VR&speed_rating=ZR&speed_rating=WR&speed_rating=YR&RunFlat=None&x=95&y=15)
start here. and i had the sumttomos before, problly get a year or so out of them, so buy and mount them now...the offseason....enjoy whatever traction they offer in the rain durning the rainy bit here. then when the autocross season comes back on you have a set of tires thatll be "shaved"
my choice (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Fuzion&tireModel=ZRi&partnum=145WR7ZRI&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&place=23)
here is the tire i would buy, they hookup well on a friends z28, and anothers cts-v. cheap as well, so it wont be to bad if you had to get a second set within a year but with a 320 AA teard wear rating i doubt you would have to worry. just keep in mind i dont think they are mud and snow approved, but snow ait a problem around here, and the mud...get a AAA membership or kep it on the road.

Tires I really love are the Potenzas. I usually had the middle of the line tires(they have the economy ones, a semi-sport, and sport), and they stuck really nice, but last quite a long time.
When I was autocrossing, I was within 2 seconds of the evo/wrx's that were on slicks when i was running the potenzas in my accord. They are a really nice set of tires.

dont get 512's for the auto-x they blow
chris just got the nitto gen's and he said there compairable to the azenis with better wet traction and i think a 280 treadware vs. azenis's 200. the bridgstone Potenzas have good traction but a 140 treadware so i wouldnt expect much life out of them
but if you really want performance azenis 615's are they way to go, thats what i have

The potenzas with the 180 treadwear... probably the top of the line ones. I used the re950's and one other one. They both had 400 treadwear. They lasted about 15k only because I had bad camber, had I been able to dismount the tires, and swap them to the other side, I could have had another 10k no problem.

I've got Nitto NT555's on the front, and i really like them. Have some used potenzas, not sure of the brand on the back, pretty sure they came off an Altima or Maxima, but they suck ass on wet roads, had the back end slide out going around a corner at like 15mph, and not on purpose...
When i replace the backs im going with the same as the front.
