Mike, sweet mods. I think I'm going to be in your auto-x class, I'm rusty but I'll give you some competition.

I put my shit in the garage, too lazy to type it all.

eh hope you can drive better than the kid in his 05 rsx, with eibach pro-kit, i had a FEW seconds on him on the short course, on 205 series ziex 512's :bann:

BRING ITTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!

I heard about that one. I might be able to drive better, who knows, never auto-x in this car.

I have more done that lowering springs though.

ahhh yeh it should be interesting..

i forgot you did coilovers.. nice, how are you liking them?

i wanted to go coilovers, but decided to spread the money to the other stuff...

i cant wait to get the konis, i have intrax springs, which are the stiffest offered for the focus, and they wore out the other struts i had because they couldnt handle the spring rate, so that with the 28mm race sway bar (19mm was stock) should be fun!

did you ever do the limited slip in the RSX?

Yes I put the helical LSD from the DC5R in a few weeks after I got it, I was spoiled from my old Integra and couldn't go without in an FF car.

I'm liking the coilovers so far, just started driving with them a few days ago and pushed it a little, I put on Falken FK452 215/45/17 and between the two mods it's a world of difference. I tightened crap up as well... did front strut, rear strut, c-pillar, rear cross brace, and 25mm adj rear sway. It's on full stiff now but it may change, it rotates a lot with the dampers at 8f/16r.

I would have worn out my struts too that's why I went with the MR coilovers, got em for $804  Didn't drop the car much, I messed with the settings and it really didn't handle very well with more than a 1.0"f/1.2"r drop.

I'll see you out there next season, don't expect much the first few times though, I haven't ran an autocross since 2001 when I had my GS-R, I'm prepared to get ::owned::

dunno if they have fitting ones for your car, but did you look into the Koni FSD's? Supposed to be the shit for auto-x also for daily-driver ride quality.

DomesticBiotch

hmm, never heard of them, but im pretty sure they dont make them for the focus, or i would have seen somthing about them..

i think the yellows will do fine for what i want (adjustable dampning) , put them a little softer for daily driving, then a little stiffer for the track..

anything will be a huge improvement over the blown out FK shocks i was running

damn dude, that looks like you spent some cash there man. Hope you enjoy.

what size rims do you have on the car now (the red ones)? They look like your running a 20series tire on them things.

also were is that you run at? I would like to hit up a course in the mr and the truck.

DomesticBiotch

yeh the tires in the picture are 205/40/17 which was a horrible choice on a 17x7 wheel, and horrible for autocross at that...

then i ran a 215/40/ on the red ones, and that was better but still had a little more room for tire..

so on the new wheels they are coming with 215/45's mounted, which should make little to no tire/fender gap, and then the koni's should keep them from rubbing...

i run out at the buckingham air field, thats where GulfCoastAutocrossers.com put on their monthly autocross event.. go to the web-site for all the details

Those look considerably better than the pic you posted orginally. should look pretty good on the car.

Are you upgrading your springs or do you have some stiff ones as it is. If you close that gap to much on a turn you could bend that fender, I've seen that a few times.

DomesticBiotch
July 7th, 2006, 09:06 PM
The springs that will be matched with the Koni's are the stiffest drop spring offered for the focus..

Im not worried about rubbing, im not even close to hitting fendor with a 215/40, and that was with the old suspension set-up, so going with a 215/45 and having the stiffer suspension set-up, i think it will be ok

oh yeh, and the offset on the wheels is specific for the car, they wont stick out far enough to worry about actually bending the fender, if anything it would just rub the inside plastic fender well a little..

im still waiting for the other stuff to come in to put on the wheels, ill make sure to get some pics up after everything is installed
