I have a 90' integra lookin for something to do with it, like engine wise, any ideas would be helpful.
I'm thinking some kind of motor swap or something or sticking with the B18 and turboin it.
Just looking for some ideas thanks :jeroff:

When you find out what your goals for the car are, it will help you narrow down your options. What do you want to make powerwise, do you want to stay na? reliabilty, comfort etc etc, and most important, how much do you want to spend?
As far as what Vortec said, he doesnt need to go low comp. a stock ls will take an assload of power in stock form and still be reliable on a good tune.

first question is what kinda racing are you looking at or even what kinda racing excites you?

pretty much, with the proper engine management you can easily hit 300whp with just adding a block guard. there's nothing wrong with the ls's, you just need to put in some cams to make it more aggressive like a vtec, only the ls will be in vtec all the time, in laymen?s terms any way !

you need to decide what you want to do first. I.E, drag racing, auto-x'ing, or just a fun little car to drive around town on the weekend. First thing you should do is repair/replace anything that's worn out or broken on the car and get it into good running/working order first. (like fix any leaks, and do a tuneup and such)
If you're looking into auto-x'ing, I would suggest starting with suspension componets first. Some good track coilovers (the real deals), strut tower bars and sway bars and improving the brakes (steel-braided lines, good pads and some nice rotors). Some nice tires and you're good to go. You don't really need to do much to the engine, maybe intake/exhaust until you get some seat time in your car as it is. When the fun factor goes out of it and you're not getting much of a thrill from that performace driving with a stock engine, then i'd suggest adding power or doing any swaps you'd want to do.
I don't know much about drag racing, im not really sure what you'd want to do there, i'm not a big fan of straght line racing.
It all boils down to how much money you want to spend and what you want to do. Just remember to do it right the first time, because replacing some cheap part that broke with the right stuff is going to cost you more then if you'd just done it right the first time.
Start slow, learn about your car and read alot of internet forums. Not everything on there is 100%, and people have diffrent ideas as to what's good and what's not, but it'll help inform you enough to make your own descisions about what will be best for you.
P.S. sell it and get the datsun  hehe just playin

Im thinking auto xing with it. i bought some adj. coil overs but they probably wont stand up to the beating, next mod is either struts or a 5speed tranny since it is automatic. i do want to boost it sometime down the road, but i plan on doing everything slow right now since it isnt registered, and i dont have alot of money flowing in at the moment.
The engine does run pretty strong, it is extremely loud and plan on quieting it up really soon, has a new timing belt, umm not really sure what else is really wrong with the car, new spark plug wires but not sure about the actual spark plugs.
anything else i think of ill post it

if you need any help, i know honda's pretty much inside out. do you know if the water pump and thermastat have been changed? those and the timming belt being set right is the # 1 killer of honda's, expecially when done by the owner!

what year? the main problem's with that conversion is the way honda welds the from bracket to hold the tranny, it's up higher than the man. tranny, thus shifting the whole engine assembly down towards the driver side. which make the shift linkage bind and not shift right, especially at higher rpm's! hasport now makes a conversion mount from auto to man. tranny but only for certain years. the only other bad thing is the firewall and the shift area, oh shit not to mention the ign lock cylinder has to be tricked so the car will release the key's. there's a lot of work to do this conversion man. we would have to sit down and figure out all the parts needed and shit. first off let's start with the major thing, what year for the mount issue?

the title says it all. lol he mentioned someting about swapping the tranny. i bet it costs more than the value of the car (non sentimental value). i figure that unless the "tuner" is not really in love with his car, he'd spend the big bucks to have it his way. seems like swapping would actually be more of a hassle. so after the year is known, whats step 2?

oh shit man I thought you where talking like you had an integra also, my bad  all call today to see if they have the conversion mount for him. it can be more of a pane then just selling the car and getting a man. car. unless like you said he's attached to the thing.

its a 1990 integra GS with the B18B the LS motor, automatic. now say we put a engine swap would that be easier then putting a manual tranny on it. say H22A4 5spd.
and thanks dave ill let u knowthe status on the water pump and therm.
no attachment to the car at all, just something to work on.

I think you should sell or part it out, and then buy a man...
