View Full Version : My car can drift? WTF

It was odd... I was doing some aggressive cornering and started to oversteer. I then went to the Alico spot and was able to do controlled donuts with an AWD. WTF??

It does stop doing that at speeds > 50 though.

I never heard anyone say something about an AWD not being able to drift. LoL last time i drifted with an AWD i hit two side walks, hit a mail box, broked two axles and landed on a middle of a non-traffic intersection.. That's why i was telling Igor im not down for this drifting shit.

Its a lot easier to drift a RWD car than AWD...

actually, the behavior of the evo is similar to that of my 240 with LSD at lower speeds. higher speeds it is not.

out in alico it would be easy to drift an evo, the whole lot is covered in traces of dirt and sand from all the construction nearyby, matt brought his evo once and did a few turns, i've seen some videos of some people drifting evos quite well actually

Ah the sand, yes that would make it easier.

Josh that sounds good, when these tires are up ill send you a PM.

I loved drifting the evo, but in the snow it was almost impossible unless just straight blowing donuts. The gravel setting on the ACD is definitely the best for sliding around but watch out for when both difs decide to hook, it will toss you!

AWD cars hold different lines when drifting. Its not preferred though. In Japan, they had converted an AWD Subaru WRX (I think) to RWD for D1 drift series.
