Car is bone stock trapping almost 108mph with a NA 3.5 V6. That's very impressive to me. With a 2.0x 60' time on stock tires also.

I've been seeing better and better times since the 2007 came out with the new engine, alot of 104-105mph trap speeds with 13.3-13.4 being common..

I found this on my350z.com today:

Well I went back down to Cecil County Dragway in MD tonight for their first Wednesday street racing of the season. There was a small to medium sized crowd so I got a decent number of runs in. Actually 11 runs in total before they cut my night short and wouldn't let me run anymore because I do not have a helmet. Air temps were in the low 40s which seemed perfect for good times.

For the record my 07 is still 100% stock down to the tire. My TurboXS exhaust will be going on this weekend or next week sometime. I did get my slave cylinder recall done since the last track outing.

At my previous track visits, I have never did any sort of burnout or "tire cleaning" spinning. I recently watched VeeTec's video of his drag run with his 2 step burnout for us Base model guys. I really like his theory and decided to put it to use...resulted in many 2.0xx 60' times, much better than my previous best of 2.227 in my 13.465 run.

Anyway, I have a new PB for time and trap speed.

Fastest trap was 107.94 mph!!! Thats getting close to 108 mph territory.

Again, I'm still all stock. Car was running strong and I was finally getting my technique right. Launch rpms were in the 2500-3000 range.

13.150 @ 107.62 with a 2.026 60'

It'll take a few more months probably but someone is going to run a 12.9x with one with that trap speed. (or just putting on drag radials)

Damn, that's impressive. I'm always skeptical of stock times like that though. It seems with any car out there the majority of the population runs within a few tenths of each other, then there a couple guys that manage to pull off a time that's like 3-4 tenths quicker and 3-4 mph faster. It always looks fishy to me.

The S2000 forums are the same way. Almost everyone runs 14.0-14.3, then there's a couple "bone stock" guys that claim a 13.6 or 13.7. When you lay down what you feel like is a "perfect run" and get a 14.2 it's hard to imagine anyone running half a second faster. I guess with the right driver in the right conditions anything is possible but it seems like there would be more guys scattered between the "normal times" and the "freak" times.

No doubt about it though, the new Z's have certainly stepped it up a bit. Even if they do have that ugly hood :biggrin

There's a few 106mph trap speeds on there @ 13.2ish so I guess the time isn't that much better than average. Just not alot of '07s at the drag strip yet.

It's weird because the fastest ones are always the base model with no LSD (this goes for all 350Z years :biggrin )

The hood is starting to grow on me.. I drive by the Solar Orange '08 at nissan every once and awhile and that car looks great in that new color.

Yeah, a Mach 1 would be a great race with one.. I think the Mach 1 would have a slight advantage from a stop and the 350Z would have a slight advantage from a roll.
