just wanna know if anyone here uses octane boosters(race gas) and think its worth it. and is it useless unless u have supporting fuel modifications. because i hear it disrupts valve timing. but i figured why not, its a easy way to gain a power. any suggestions?

dont use it.it does nothing but water down your good fuel.

I think it's such an insignificant amount when put into a tank of gas it's not going to make any difference. Do you run 87 in your GT? If so you'd be much better off throwing some 89 or 93 in there, but I still doubt it'd make any difference. Maybe if you bumped the timing up a little bit you could pick up some power though.

i run 87 most of the time, every now and then ill throw 93 in there. i brought this up cause a friend of mine has a GTP and he runs it. itook a ride in it and it felt quick for what it was. we raced though, i took him by 6, 7 legnths in 2nd it was nothin

feel fast doesn't really mean anything.
sometimes my evo doesn't feel quick, but then i drive the teg and it feels fast... even though its nowhere in the same football field.

Adding racing gas won't do shit unless you have other mods to need it. Don't bother putting it in a stock car or a non-boosted car with just bolt-ons. There is really only one octane booster out there that does what they claim they do and for the cost it's really not worth it.
And i'm talking just octane boosters you buy at the store not straight up racing gas.

spend the money and run 93 oct. Like when on weekends I run 2 gallons of 113 oct to a full tank and pumps me up to a 97 oct, its just a cheap insurance policy for me, and when I run the 175shot I put 5 gallons of 113 oct and change the timing. But every once in a while won't hurt to put a gallon of 110 in a full tank. Fuel add ins will actually rust your plugs.

where do you get your race fuel? when I was at Sebring 2 weeks ago i saw that the 110 was leaded. i know my cars recommended fuel is 91 octane unleaded. how bad for your car is leaded?

I bought my C-12 last time I went to the track from a speed shop on Fowler, Ill see if I can get the name from my dad in the morning.
I am ordering a drum of C16 as soon as my car is running :SolidStraight:
Also leaded fuel is bad for o2 sensors and catalytic converters.

are those are both unleaded race fuels?
Victor

Nope, they are both leaded. I have no cats and the wideband that I am getting uses an NTK sensor which is better when dealing with leaded fuels than the Bosch ones that foul out way easier.

yeah i definitely need unleaded. i know my friends dad gets 103 from vp but they are all the way over in miami and you have to buy it by the drum
Victor

C12 and C16 are also VP fuels. They have distributors in the area who can probably order it for you.
VP also has a whole range of different unleaded fuels, it just depends what your application is. You can go to their website to see what they have.

it is recommended from factory to run 87. i do run 93 most of the time. i just wanna know if running higher would hurt anything w/out previous fuel management system

ok. i thought u were talking bout someone elses mustang for some reason. i am in the process of saving for...a steeda clutch, nitto tires preferably 315"s. and gears. frankly my stock clutch as of now could not handle it. i may need some pointers as to where i shold look for this. the steeda catolog i have only has a stage2 clutch $229.79 rated for 1000hp. a stage1 clutch i think would be perfect

No fucking way a stage 2 clutch is gonna hangle 1000hp my $1,399 Zoom Twin disc clutch is only for 900hp, so double check that. But your factory clutch is fine u will know when its about to go, sounds like a cat under the hood justa whining,i would say replace it with a centerforce all steeda is paying for a nam. just go to www.rpmoutlet.com (http://www.rpmoutlet.com) . If u all want like 110 gas let me know once in a while i take my 55gallon tank up to Punta Gorda and get ir from up there for like 5.50 a gal. Just can;t tell u all where i get it from

C12,C16,110 &112 are all leaded fuels. If u want unleaded get VP's MS100, MS103, MS109 or C10. C10 is the only non-oxygenated unleaded fuel around. Talk to jeff at Performance Plus and he will order whatever u want. I've made my quickest pass on the MS109 but have tried just about all of them. Do some research so u know whats best for u. I'm trying the C10 next time out.

Can Jeff order any VP fuel by the drums?
LimeTime
July 3rd, 2008, 11:10 PM
He can do drums or 5 gallan cans. He usually gets a few orders together before he orders from the distributor, he has to have a full pallet or they won't deliver. I put in a order about 2 weeks ago and just came in Wed.

the steeda catalog that i got came with the steeda shortthrow. it has their stage 2 clutch rated at 1000hp. now maybe steeda is not the way to go as far as clutches. but thats the only place i looked sry. if u can recommend a better one that be great. but im sure ill need clutch

i was reading about vp's streetblaze 100
"StreetBlaze100 generates up to 14% more horsepower compared to premium grade 91 octane unleaded gasoline. Designed for use in cast-iron head engines with CRs up to 13:1 and aluminum head engines up to 14:1. Works well on the latest generation of electronically-controlled turbo engines. Contains no metal compounds and won't harm catalytic converters or oxygen sensors."
im gunna call him and ask him for a price on 30 gallons but if he charges alot more im going to talk to my friends dad tomorrow because he's going over to ft lauderdale to buy another 54 gallon drum and im sure if i pay him he'll pick me up the 30 gallons when hes over there.

Like i was there the other day having them install my gears and POSi unit, he noticed my collecter for my long tubes headers want dent fixed it and did my noticed my upper and lower control arm were not right so he fixed them for free thats the kinda shit i like, thats why i will go back to them for everything
