I'm taking the montaro out tomorrow (Sunday)
I'll probably pick up ben at sometime around 12 in the afternoon (maybe a bit later) and hit up that construction spot off 3 oaks for a bit. After that, IDK.

Sweet. The construction sites around there should keep us entertained for a couple hours. Afterwards we'll find some other area to play on.
Bring a video camera if possible.

We meeting up first somewhere? Set a place and time to meet. Give it about 20 minute lee-way for the straglers..

Pics don't do it justice. It was pretty deep in the mud at some point. I can't believe how well the 4runner did. If your keeping it I would buy another stock set of rims and put some good tires on them and switch them out for offroading days. It would be unstoppable.

Yeah, very true. Not sure though. Need the miata gone, then I can decide if I need to find a 4x4 Cherokee...

Dammit, I had family in town and couldn't make it. Oh well, I'm sure there will be other days. Who's down for an offroad day pt2? I know some other people didn't get to make it out either. WE should plan it a week or so in advance so everyone knows and is prepared.

Good to hear you guys actually tore it up. I'm down for the next outting, just get something together again with alittle more notice so I can plan for it.

Picked me up a deckplate for my intake (so I can uncap the hole for the street, and cover it up when deep water crossings might be on the way. Couldnt beleive that a stupid piece of plastic could be almost 20 bucks, but I guess cheaper than a hydrolocked engine.
Gotta figure out why I have a 'thump' now. It sounds like a sway bar endlink, but not too sure.
Anyone know of any good stuff to use to keep the mud spray from ending up all over the engine bay? Not looking forward to when I actually need to clean the truck!

1- Good save Aero
2 - Juan - good to hear it was only an "unconcious" battery. I'm gonna start using that term at my shop
3 - Cleaning a truck? Whats that?
In all actualality, I wash down my truck every week, full detail every month and clay bar every 4 months. I use my preasure washer to get all the muck out of the bay, then go through with a cloth and get all the crevises, then shoot a blanket of Armourall Tire clean on it. Looks brand new everytime. *NOTE* I sealed both my fuse box and airintake. So don't go blasting away untill you've taken the proper steps.

My montero shut off a few times after deep water crossings. Then when I started it, the car didn't want to rev and stumbled for a few minutes. Still don't know why.

relax i was joking.
but if you REALLY wanna get serious. ill take you on on that challenge.and ill outmud you.
but wait , you might get your transfercase wet ,GOD FORBID you have to change your fluids.
you know exactly why i didnt take it out to cook & brown & you understood my situation.even though the whole time i was there i was kicking myself for not taking the jeep
and the ONLY reason it fucked up was because the connector was old and shitty and vibration made it finally come loose.
i just put like 5 zipties holding that bitch on there.. lol. that bitch aint goin NOWHERE

Get that battery wire terminal fixed man, and I am sure you will be fine.
So when do we think this'll happen again? Im debating putting my stock rear sway bar back on. The one on there now is for the street and makes it handle quite a bit better. Im just not sure if I'll want to live with all that extra sway on a daily basis.

Still have a slight squeak over bumps, probably mud got into places it shouldnt be :) But depending on what time and where, I may be up for some Sunday fun. Got some unfinished projects at home that I need to work on.... some landscaping and getting rid of an inground hot tub.
